Well not to destroy the show, i want to talk of entertainment in our university.There are many things that catch students and create fun or entertainment, from the dresses worn,the Desperados and Tyme-outs, the 'bo no de de'[of the tribe] gospel rock shows, the comedy cafe through the floats of halls, the gonos,the pondings and others but one great place, what i love to call the entertainment center is the TV room.
Did you just say, whats it with this guy, maybe he's not got a TV at home or his dad guides it like that Ghana Telecom advert where the man sat behind his locked phone with the famous Tagoe kpoti and a bulldog.Man no, no! no!no!you got it wrong so just shut your mouth or fake psychology cos you got it wrong this time, ha! ha! But talking of the comedy cafe,please be there just once in the semester .Its a great stress reliever.
This guy was there, whats his name, errrm! David, yes David of Stars of The Future fame and in one of his jokes he got on the great expense on funerals of late and the great possibility that like Music Music, there'll be a chance for us to text and vote for the favorite corpse and only the best of Ghana's dj's will host the program.And the great announcement "there will be no wake -keeping but there'll be a dance hall after the funeral proceedings. Davids not the favorite, there's this guy who gets on gay stuff and he's great its like a cartoon and this slim guy who will blow you off and the last man Foster who gave us the greatest tip of all time that fans of 2-face don't know 2-face doesn't bath but check out the presenter he's great and for the gals you've got to check him out. Am i losing focus, hope not but yeah, just remembered the TV is a place to be at all times.I remember one time watching a movie the lights went off and this guy got so pissed of that he released his Adams family kind of rage in the form of nonsense.
Guy:these Water service people are not serious at all.
TV mate:what has the light-off got to do with the Water service?
Guy: Aren't they the ones who are using the water in the Akosombo.
That was it for me that day, i got out and had a nice dream about the whole experience.
Get into the TV room and you're in for a thriller. First if you've never been there be ready for the chorus of the room CHANGE,and to it there are plenty of responses being room of great nonsense there are improvements coming on from, "Change your grade point", "Change your mouth", "Who's that crazy guy" and on and on.
I love it when there's a film showed and its better if its an action one or a Matrix kind of movie.After the whole computer tricks, some guy will shout " eeh! yen na ye djimi"[ie. we are the foolish ones to believe that]. I remember one day in the Legon hall TV room, in one movie this guy was near death and he held on to a boy that was by his side and talked on for like five minutes before dying. When he finally died someone made the statement, "so after all his John-john attitude he was going to die" Such nonsense and i love that.And lately with the inception of the Coke Brrrghh! thing, the boys heii! heiii! with each turn of event in the action and block-buster movies.Ever hall seems to have their favorites from the Nigerian films by those of Legon hall, the Indian movies from 8 o'clock by the Vikings, action or comedy films by the Vandals. Unfortunately, i'm not sure for the others.
There's also wrestling to which we take sides and laugh and heii at each move of brilliance by the wrestlers and when there seems to be nothing to watch we get on to the cartoon and watch Tom and Jerry or Scooby-doo or the Flintones which i love because its about cheating or adultery something really stupid. Have you ever thought how life will be if we were cartoons.How we could run like five kilometres off a mountain realize we're in the air and rush back, or realize all the stress and heat within through our ears or let the girls whip us like Johny Bravo but whip every boy or be so witty like Bugs bunny or Tweety with "Have you ever had the feeling that you're been watched"
There are the music videos from various satellite dishes like for GBS there is Kiss, and for DSTV there is Channel O and MTV.Its great or fun when there are erotic acts and we all scream 'Change, its immoral".We sing along our favorite or known lines from the latest of the Rihana's, the Jay-Zs, the Eminems and all the others.
My favorite though of the TV room is when there's a match.On an occasion as that you get there like at most an hour to time or at least forty-five or count yourself as a military parading officer and you dare not faint because you'll serve as a height aid to the shorter ones.
During matches especially regarding the English Premier Leagues, due to the rivalry of the top four teams Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool there is the against crowd which Clement Stone puts it" if there's nothing to lose by trying[playing against],and a great deal to gain then do it" and they do it.The members of the others team up gang up against the other.And its great plying against because you are not hurt but woe betides you if you lose, that's that.
